We aren’t the only game in the country, or even in town.  Check out these great resources for slam in Spokane and the Pacific Northwest.

Spokane Poetry Slam Facebook Page:  You like us!  You really like us!

Broken Mic Facebook Page:  Broken Mic is our sister event–a great performance poetry open mic that happens every Wednesday at Neato Burrito (827 W 1st). If you’re going to be our Facebook friend, you should be theirs, too.  Or else…

Big Tree Arts, Inc.:  Big Tree Arts is the non-profit group that organizes slam poetry in Boise, Idaho. We have a crush on them.  They’re just adorable!

Portland Poetry Slam:  According to one Spokane poet, “Portland is where vagabonding goes to die.”  I don’t know about that, but a lot of world champion poets live there.  They put on a hell of a show.  Check them out! (The link is to their Facebook page.  If they have a website, I can’t find it.  But I’m not looking too hard.  If you know what it is, let me know.)

Seattle Poetry Slam: Seattle is where the cool Spokanites wanted to go when I was in college.  It’s still pretty cool, and the poets there are pretty spectacular.

Vancouver Poetry Slam:  Let me just say it:  I love poets from Vancouver, BC.  They blow me away with poems I never had the slightest idea could even exist.

Poetry Slam, Inc.:  This is the governing body of Slam in the United States of America.  Maybe the world.  They do hold an Individual World Poetry Slam championship every year, but that might be like the World Series in baseball…
